Terminal Settings and Connections Guide

SETTINGS is the Terminal’s control center for access and preferences. It can include billing, broker connections, account preferences, notification controls, identity status, and host features. Some sections are visible only when the related plan, account, or role is eligible. Settings sections • Billing and plan: review the active plan, subscription state, payment-management path, and purchased account access when available. • Broker connections: connect, select, refresh, or disconnect supported broker sources. • Preferences: configure Terminal behavior such as risk, limits, enabled modules, display options, and other account-scoped choices. • Notifications: manage available email, push, and Terminal notification preferences. • Identity: review verification state and any required follow-up. • Host features: eligible members can see host onboarding, subscriber, revenue, or payout information. Plan and permission states A plan-required message means the feature is not included in the current plan. A connection-required message means the feature needs an eligible account source. A role or identity message means the section needs account verification or a specific program status. These states are intentional and should not be bypassed by refreshing repeatedly. Broker connections When connecting a broker: 1. Open the broker section and choose the provider. 2. Follow the provider’s secure connection flow. Keep credentials on the provider’s screen; do not paste them into chat or a support ticket. 3. Return to the Terminal and wait for the connection state to change. 4. Confirm the selected account name and source. 5. Open DASH or Positions and verify that the account-scoped cards hydrate with the expected context. If a provider offers multiple accounts, select the intended account explicitly. Changing the active account can affect the position, balance, and order views that follow. If the account was removed or the provider is unavailable, reconnect through the supported flow rather than entering credentials into a Terminal field. Preferences and safety limits Risk, daily loss, position size, and stop-loss preferences can be entered using the unit shown beside each field. Read the helper text before saving. A percentage and a dollar amount are different limits. A preference change can affect future actions; it does not retroactively change an already submitted order. Use the save or apply control and wait for a success or error message. If the request times out, verify the current value after reloading before submitting it again. This avoids duplicating an ambiguous write. Modules and privacy Enabled modules control which Terminal cards are mounted or visible. Privacy and community settings can affect social surfaces and blocked accounts. A hidden module is different from a failed data request; review Settings before diagnosing a missing card. Notifications and identity Notification controls may include separate switches for the available delivery channels. Identity status can be pending, under review, verified, or action required. If action is required, follow the displayed instructions and return to Settings after completion. Host features Host features are separate from ordinary community browsing. If the section shows onboarding requirements, complete the listed requirements in order. Revenue, subscriber, payout, and history values are account-specific and should be read with their displayed status. Connection troubleshooting • The provider window did not open: allow pop-ups for the site and start the flow again. • Connection remains pending: wait for the provider callback, then reload Settings once. • Account is unavailable: check the provider status and confirm the selected account. • Data cards show the old account: return to Settings, select the intended account, then wait for account-scoped hydration. • Settings is plan-locked: review Billing and plan access; do not treat the lock as a market-data error. Desktop and mobile Desktop can show several Settings groups in a wider layout. Mobile presents one active Settings section at a time; use the section selector and scroll to the save or connection controls. Keep the active section open until its success or error state is visible. For positions after a broker change, see /help/articles/terminal-account-positions-trading-guide.
