Terminal News and Calendar Guide
The News and Calendar cards provide context for the selected symbol and the broader market. They are research tools. Headlines and scheduled events do not guarantee a price move or a trading result. News card The News card can show a headline, source, author, timestamp, summary, and a link to the original article. The card is normally scoped to the selected symbol. Open a headline to read the available detail and use the source link when you need the publisher’s full article. News status labels • Loading: the first request is still pending. • Refreshing: prior headlines remain visible while the card checks for newer items. • Ready: the card has confirmed headlines for the current symbol. • Empty: the request succeeded but no headlines matched the current symbol or period. • Stale: the card is showing the most recent confirmed result while a refresh is pending. • Unavailable: no usable result was confirmed after the card’s retry window. An empty card is not the same as a failed card. If the symbol has no recent coverage, use the symbol selector or open the broader research surfaces rather than assuming the news service is broken. Calendar card The Calendar card lists scheduled economic events and their visible status or time context. Check the event date, time zone, importance label, and whether the event is upcoming, released, or unavailable. Scheduled information can change, and the displayed time should be read with the card’s time-zone context. Calendar recovery If the calendar is still computing, wait for the card to settle. If it shows Retry, use that action once. If the card is empty, check the selected date range and session context. If it is unavailable, do not fill in a missing event from memory; use confirmed information from the card or an authoritative source. Article modal and mobile behavior On desktop, opening a headline can use a modal or expanded card. On mobile, the same content may occupy the active panel and require scrolling. Close the detail view with its close or back control before changing symbols. A headline’s source link may open a new browser context depending on device settings. Relationship to chart and signals News and calendar do not replace the chart, High Levels, Low Levels, ZDEX, ZMA, or signal cards. Compare timestamps and selected symbol context when reviewing them together. A new headline can appear before a chart update; do not assume the cards update at the same instant. Common issues • News does not change after a symbol switch: confirm the new symbol, wait for refreshing to finish, and retry once. • Calendar appears blank after a date change: check the date range and wait for the next admitted load. • A source link does not open: check browser pop-up settings and try again from the expanded article. • Several research cards fail: reload the Terminal and check the main connection state.
